Omg. Wow. Omg. Wow. This is my favorite chapter. It's amazing. Such powerful emotions from both. So when Noah and Rachel had Isaac Noah was still human? And rachel has run after straight girls before? And I want to know what happened to Isaac since it's such painful subjects to both. :( I love badass angry Rachel. <3 Noahs realization came too late :(

I've been chattering about and planning this chapter since a bit more than a week ago when I figured out it was going to happen. So much fun. :3

Yep, Vanpyr are genetically compatible with humans since (for the most part) they were human once. But they also have lower fertility rates, to the point where two Vanpyr having a child is next to impossible, and even if they did, there's a painfully high chance of miscarriage or stillbirth. Having children with humans is easier, but still hard, hence why Puck didn't think he could knock up Quinn. Rachel and Puck were married in the late 1850s before Puck turned and Issac was born then.

Rachel had to learn the hard way about unrequited and undesired affection, yep. Of course, it could also be mentioned that her and Puck have been in each other's life a few times, and sometimes that involved sharing. Too bad I don't write smut, hey? XD

She has, but they won't be appearing. Hiram's the only child of hers still living right now and Issac's been mentioned because of Puck's role.

One of the best friends I made in undergraduate school was a guy who was in love with the same woman I was. We actually bonded over it and became decent friends when we realized she didn't reciprocate either of our feelings (and years later when I discovered she started having meaningless affairs with some of our classmates, including women, it didn't hurt nearly as much as I expected

I'm really glad you liked the transformation. I was worried I wouldn't make it come across properly and I probably still missed half of the details I can see in my mind. The amount of pain the more powerful Vanpyr go through to achieve their non-human forms is an important detail that I'm trying to be very careful to make clear. I certainly hope I'm succeeding.

Puck's in a dangerous place and the thing that's keeping him safe is, honestly, the fact that Rachel still cares quite deeply for him. He's the only lover she's ever had that successfully made the change (small detail, only a small percentage of those who attempt to Pass Beyond succeed with their souls intact, many more are driven insane and have to be destroyed) and that's important to her. They've shared a lot, and really, if they hadn't been as close as they are, he'd be dead because she'd never have given him a chance to explain.

WELL, that was quite the chapter. It was definitely a roller coaster ride. Rachel admits that she has feelings for Quinn and we get to know a bit more back story. This was certainly a enjoyable read, thank you for writing!

This was what I've been waiting for yay. I loved it the tortured emotions from both sides were palpable, especially Noah's want to be better for Rachel. Rachel finally admitting she wants Quinn is a big step I say even if she isn't going to do anything about it, admitting it is half the battle. Great update again even though I feel spoiled that theres three more waiting for me to read lol.
