So, I was doing my groceries and I pass through the aisle that has all my favorite hispanic products (ie. beans, rice, tortillas, jupina, and various other seasonings). Usually all of these produts are labeled under ethnic food, its offensive in a way, but not that bad. Today though, I look up and to my suprise I see a new sign saying "mexican food". I look to my left and I see Paul Newman wearing a sombrero. And I am now really offended. I mean Mexicans don't really eat a lot of the food in the aisle, its a mix of various different hispanic products not just Mexican stuff. So I finish my groceries and call the manager. I tell him "hey, thats offensive, hispanics aren't just mexican. Me and my hispanic non-mexican friends are offened. And it tells us publix doesn't care about offending" he goes on about how publix loves hispanics and we stock so many products etc. Still doesn't change the sign i remark. He tells me he can't because of corporate regulations of stores the colors signs and what not. He then tells me he will call them ASAP and try to get it changed, because he wasn't the manager but the Assitant Manager and the real Manager is Hispanic. Makes me think then why didn't he complain as soon as he saw it. SO END OF STORY. PUBLIX DOES LIKE ME BECAUSE THEY JUST THINK I AM ANOTHER MEXICAN IN THIS COUNTRY.
