Yeah, Christmas. It's a lot of fun. Whether it's listening to your favorite carols (for me, this means pulling out the ol' John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album), opening presents, or wrapping, Christmas has always seemed like a good time to recharge for me. I know everyone says it's really stressful... but I don't get that. Am I just too young to feel the full stress of the holidays? At fifteen, it seems like I'm way stressed all the time - I'm shocked to find a time when I'm the most relaxed.
Not that there wasn't stress. We all got snowed in, and my presents for my parents got stuck at school. Joy to the world. It's weird having a white, and not a wet, Christmas. Here in the PNW, the herald of the season tends to be the rain. I won't say that wasn't an epic snowball fight, though...
And then, to wrap up Christmas day, I got what I think may be one of the best Christmas presents of all time.

Here's the hint:
(I know all the pictures are backwards. It just makes it that much harder)

(still confused? try behind the cut!)

The front cover
In this huge book, there's a secret compartment. Inside, there's this:

The special edition Tales of Beedle the Bard, translated from the original runes my Hermione Granger and with commentary by Albus Dumbledore. It's wicked awesome. I've already read them all, and I'm trying to decide which one to read out loud to my brother tonight. He can't read the font. It's probably a good thing, I think there's one I'm going to edit out, but don't tell him that. ;-). As a warning to the faint of (hee hee) heart, DO NOT read 'the warlock's hairy heart' to small children. It's like the original sleeping beauty crossed with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3. I was a little creeped out, and I'm fifteen. I think my fave of all the stories was the fountain of fair fortune, especially the ending. So, if you're an HP fan, go out and buy a copy right now. The covers they're selling in stores are beautiful, I think they're done by the person who did the covers for the US HP covers.

So yeah, that's all from your friendly neighborhood Eddisian. Merry Christmas!
