I'm still alive. However, I hate crutches.

Been stuck at the parent's place, recovering from surgery. Who would have thought severed tendon and nerves would be such a pain in the ass, huh? Not all that much to report, mostly been sitting in this blissful air conditioning, doing a bit of research and ignoring my foot twitching/itching/hurting/throbbing blah blah blah. Thankfully, I have a fibreglass cast...so at least it breathes a bit.

Tamara has been great. She somehow manages to take a grumpy, in pain and bored Chris in her stride. And she has helped me save face so much. You wouldn't think it, but take away the use of a foot and everyday things become major undertakings. For instance - a shower. I have to bag my leg, tape it all up, get undressed, get into the shower, do the shower-type stuff, get out and dry/get dressed. On one foot and crutches. Without slipping. Or putting weight on my (still) healing foot. Shit like this has led to my temper being....somewhat epic. Not violent or anything, but the black clouds have appeared. Yet Tamara has been all smiles.

Oh, there is promising data in regards to treating 90% of diseases with a single engineered virus. Rather interesting to read...you should see the piles of magazines/journals/printouts etc I have stacked on my desk. Not being able to get around much = bookworm.

And as soon as I get the all clear, and get this GODAMNED cast off my leg...I am acquiring a security/dog handling/firearms license and applying to Australian Customs. Tamara, my friends and her friends all seem to agree. I'm an asshole and would be perfect for a job like that. And I look mean when I'm pissed off. Apparently. (Although they probably wouldn't want me on the coast patrol boats...I'm more likely to "accidentally" sink illegal immigrant boats, rather than bring them to shore).

Either way, I've done my little update. It's 3am. Drugs are starting to kick in, so I'm going to crawl my ass into bed.
