“I guess”. You would one hundred percent drink both of those coffees if I let you. *He tidies his desk with a casual wand flickety-flick-a technical term!-and holsters it before fetching his coat from the stand.*
Yeah, I would. You're probably doing me a favour not letting me. *Cade would like to casually lean over and kiss Aubrey but alas, bad idea. He just sips on his coffee instead.*
I am. I am very kind, really. *Coat on, though he doesn’t bother doing it up, he takes the offered coffee, which involves perhaps a little more touching of fingers than it strictly requires. He makes a pleased noise when he sips it.* Mmm. Apparently we are both very kind. Well done us.
We're well matched. Cheers. *It's a little silly to clink to go coffee cups together but Cade is a little silly. When they walk he manages to keep a friendly, nondescript distance but he looks at Aubrey like his day's being made.*
*The coffee is warm, the company is pleasant, and moving works the stiffness out.* I really needed this. *His gesture encompasses coffee and Cade.* No hotel work?
First Monday of the month, there was a shareholder's meeting first thing and there'll be a board meeting in the afternoon so I'm calling that enough work. At least, as far as things that don't need to be done today. *It's possible sitting through hours of meetings with a dozen plus people in them and earnestly trying to follow conversations others resent him being a part of is Cade's own personal hell, but he tries not to think about it.*
Exactly. I wouldn't blame them, I think it's ridiculous I'm there too, but I'm not going anywhere so it seems like a waste. It's not a great way to get anywhere, what if I held grudges?
I don't want you to think too badly of them, some are definitely trying that too. If my dad found out he'd be so angry, though, and he does hold grudges. But it's not all that bad, I've gotten my great uncle to talk to me first a couple of times now. We'll get on someday.
Yeah, well...I don't have a defense or an excuse. *He signs too charming with a shrug, as this is a foregone conclusion. Of course it worked for Aubrey.*
*Aubrey looks from Cade to the piles of his work on his desk, hesitates for a breath, and the drops his pen on the topmost pile.* Yeah, okay.

I got you a coffee. Or myself two coffees if you don't want a coffee, I guess. *He holds up said coffee and wiggles it temptingly.*

Ouch. Let me guess, they all resent you for asking questions when you do, and then resent you for not asking questions when you don’t?

If they had any sense, they’d be trying to exploit you. Bribing or blackmailing the boss’s son for leverage is a time honoured tradition.

This the Welsh great uncle?

Emrys, yeah. I learned enough Welsh to apologize for how little Welsh I know and I'm really surprised how far that got me.
