America the Beautiful

I just saw Blood Diamond and I cannot remember the last time I was so moved by a film. I walked out of the theatre half an hour ago and I still feel sick to my stomach. Any problems I may have seem so miniscule in comparison to what else goes on in this world and it's so easy to forget it.

This was proven to me when I came home and started doing some research on the film... which lead me to some public reviews on Fandango or Hollywood or one of those dot coms. Don't ask me why I read them. They always just piss me off, but I did it anyway. And then I read this. "Good romance; unrealistic in that if all those terrible things were happening that a man would..." Pause. Let's not even finish what this person had to say because she said "in that IF all of those terrible things..." IF??? IF??? THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING YOU F***ING MORON!!!

Who the flip walks out of that movie and calls it a good romance??? It wasn't Pearl F***ing Harbor! I don't understand how somebody could possibly walk away from watching 2 hours and 18 minutes of slaughter, war, and the brainwashing of children to kill their own kind and not be seriously affected. Who is ignorant enough to think this was a creation of Hollywood executives who wanted to make some modern day epic war romance? Is this the triumph of CNN and Fox News? We're living in the Roman Empire, my friends. I'm extremely tired and I know I'm writing with no articulation whatsoever, but it ANGERS ME! I'm too emotional and I feel sick to my stomach. I'm pretty sure you get what I'm saying.
