I've been thinking a lot of noteworthy thoughts lately, but none of those are going to be written about right now.
I just want to propose a few questions. One. Who in their right mind decided that Jessica Biel was the best possible choice for the leading lady in The Illusionist? It clearly wasn't for her acting. And although she's apparently the most beautiful woman in the world, I think she's about as attractive as those stupid little dogs that stupid people think are cute and carry around in their stupid handbags. I've heard a theory that she'll draw in the crowds. So two. When did Jessica Biel become somebody with "box office draw?" Cause last time I checked she got attention by posing naked for Maxim to further her "career" and then got a series of really crappy movies. I was happy with that scenerio. Jessica Biel starring in action movies that would have been crappy anyway is the proper order of the universe. Which brings me to my third question. Who paid off all those critics to say that Jessica Biel did an okay job? I wouldn't even go so far as to give her the compliment I usually give Claire Danes and say she didn't ruin the movie. But if this is the industry's new standard of "good," then yes, by comparison, Kiera Knightly deserved an oscar nomination. And most importantly, she may have some people fooled, but does Jessical Biel actaully think that she's got talent? That she deserves to work opposite Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti? That she is the next big thing, walking in the foot steps of actresses like Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman?
Or is this all one big, elaborate trick? An illusion perhaps? If it is, my hats off to you, Ms. Biel.
