Warnings that fics should have.

Cool rant/essay on technically good stories that fail because of the villain. Because somebody who might be good in canon is revealed to be the surprise monster villain without any sane explanation.

Somebody's list of fanfic squicks and musings on the "Well, it doesn't suck" kind of reccing. I rather liked that ( Read more... )

Dude. Biracial love is a total kink for me. Seriously. It makes me sad that most of my fandoms don't have anyone of nice shiny colors. Lost does but I don't really fic it, though they fdo have Bernard/Rose (White man, black woman, both older) who may be on of my favorite canon ships of all. Scrubs has no fic but they have Turk/Carla canon (Black man, Latina woman, mid-twenties or so) who are so incredibly perfect it's unbelievably believable.

My main problem with PB? Is that C-Note is all for his family and it feels bad to put him with anyone else. Sucre? I totally want. I want him and Michael to be together. I'm trying to figure out how to write it even. The hard part is trying get them busy in prison.

Also? I saw Michael and Lincoln's mom on the bus the other day. She was maybe 20 or so, "white" skin (Really light-skinned black or Mexican) and with thick, curly black hair tied back off her face. She had really full lips (Kinda like Kid!Linc in last night's flashback) and her nose was all cute and buttony and I saw her and wished I had a camera-phone because she was totally what I envisioned Mama!Scofield looked like.

Not to mention like everybody was in love with Carla. Dr. Cox was and JD kissed her one, right?

Is that C-Note is all for his family and it feels bad to put him with anyone else.

I know. But I still kinda want it, because I think he's hot. But it would be like AU where the family doesn't exit. Is it racist when I say I want a fic where Sara is trapped in the safehouse with them and has sex with all of them (including a blowjob for T-Bag)? And she loves riding C-Note's black cock, because whoa shiny! (as in, she looks down on herself and watches how it goes in and out) Oh wait here thy misogyny trumps out the racism, right?

Dr. Cox thought he was in love with her in the first season until she told him in the begining of the second that he still loved his ex-wife. That made him mad. I don't think JD ever had the hots for her seriously though.

I don't know. I'm honestly too horrified to try and think about it. It's weird, I'm not usually a prude but I think Sara watching it may have pushed me over the edge a bit.

I'm convinced this is why I get a complete mind-blank when I try to write porn. I can read it and like it but when I try to write it my brain starts to cry. Really it's sad. :'(

They kissed while drunk (I think they fell off the counter together) and had a big confrontation about it in the rain. I mostly remember it because somebody on my friendlist shipped them.

Naw, I'm all for the self watching. Sex in front of/against the mirror for example is total hot in my book.

See the only confrontation in the rain I remember is back when JD first became the doctor and got all butthurt over her calling him Bambi.

See that's the weird thing, one of my favorite fics has one of the characters watching (mirror). I think it's because I had time to prepare myself (Because sadly I need to work up the courage to read porn sometimes) in that one. I am such a freak.

Bernard/Rose

Not to go all sanctimonious, but I was so fucking annoyed with people (*cough*at TWOP) at the beginning of this season, when we had met some of the tailies but not yet found out who each of them were, everyone seemed so sure that Echo was Rose's husband. And I kept thinking "Buh? But she's way older than him!" And it seemed like everyone just assumed that Echo was married to Rose just becuase they're both black. Which really irritated me. I have no idea why it bugged me so much, but it just seemed so short-sighted and stereotypical.

Sanctimonious rant over now. I love Rose and Bernard too. And Turk/Carla. And JD/Turk are my favorite TV friendship ever, and I love that the black/white thing isn't completely ignored (the episode with them appearing in ads for the hospital is one of my favorites, especially Turks' "They put me on the cover of our college brochure! Twice!"), but isn't ever made into a big fat "issue" either.

I can kinda see that though. I never for a second thought Echo was her husband but I will admit that I wasn't expecting her to be married to a white guy. For me that was more about the fact that we rarely get to see anything like that and that the black guy is always with the black girl and almost never with a white girl or anything else because people are stupid.

There is so much Word in that paragraph that I had to copy the entire thing. I love that they make an issue of why it shouldn't be an issue, it's so completely perfect.

Which leaves the question of whether there is fic. Or if it is like Sucre/Michael, where everybody likes them, but barely anybody writes fic on them.

How's your arm?

There's hardly any fic for Scrubs fandom at all, but from what I can tell when it is written it's usually Cox/JD. I've seen one or two JD/Turk's but for the most part Turk and Carla are held up as The Ultimate Couple.

The arm's doing okay, my elbow keeps popping but aside from that it doesn't hurt much more than usual.
