metafandom Warnings that fics should have.
Cool
rant/essay on technically good stories that fail because of the villain. Because somebody who might be good in canon is revealed to be the surprise monster villain without any sane explanation.
Somebody's list of fanfic squicks and musings on the "Well, it doesn't suck" kind of reccing. I rather liked that

Oy vey, I was wondering if anyone on my flist would bring this up one day!
I have no idea why slash writers don't gravitate towards biracial pairings, but a definate aversion is there. My (half-assed) explanation is that it has a lot to do with power dynamics. If in the pairing the white man is dominant, it's seen as subjugation. And if the black man is dominant, it's seen as playing into stereotype.

Then again, considering that the boundaries for incest or underage fic have been broken doesn't that seem petty in comparison? And that aside from the whole "Is it more offensive to write them badly than it is to not write them at all?".
I've always been a fan of biracial het pairings in canon (in a completely superficial "Eeee, pretty!" and "Eeeee, hot" kind of way) it surprises me that it isn't more kink in slash. Like, I'm always looking for interesting dynamics, there's the whole "We work and law enforcement and have to hide our relationship", "Incest!!!" and "But I'm your boss/mentor". If the thing is so taboo and scary as the lack of fic suggests, shouldn't that be more thrill?

Biracial het pairings = love, no matter the fandom for me. In Lost it would be Ana/Eko or Micheal/Sun, in CSI it's Catherine/Warrick, and in House it's Foreman/Cuddy. But the fact that I have few slash pairings in Lost and none in CSI complicates matters. I know with me, personally, I'm not usually attracted to black men unless they are exceptionally hot, like Warrick, who's character is pretty much promoted as "Hot Black Guy".

Foreman/Cuddy? O__0
So how's the fic writing ratio for those pairings you described?
Word on the hotness or Warrick, but it still seems to me that the fic amount is totally inproportionate to the actual hotness.

most of the black guys i think are hot are rappers, however. which makes me laugh, because i am the whitest person EVER. but, pharrell? or nelly? or mos def? make me swoon. <3333
And Blade and Warrick and Morgan Freeman!
I agree that rap culture is wicked hot, but at the same time I can see how that would be hard to write about, since I'm guessing it would be hard to get the character voices right.

Now if Ludacris had played him? Or Gary Dourdan? Or...um yeah, that's about it for black guys I'm attracted to. Oh wait, Ray from The Amazing Race.
I always feel kinda racist when I say I'm not attracted to black guys, but that's just my preference. Which is why I never really shipped Gunn with anyone.

I'm asking this because a lot of not really attractive people (at least in my definiton of it) are being shipped, apparently based on kinks in their writing.

Is that C-Note is all for his family and it feels bad to put him with anyone else.
I know. But I still kinda want it, because I think he's hot. But it would be like AU where the family doesn't exit. Is it racist when I say I want a fic where Sara is trapped in the safehouse with them and has sex with all of them (including a blowjob for T-Bag)? And she loves riding C-Note's black cock, because whoa shiny! (as in, she looks down on herself and watches how it goes in and out) Oh wait here thy misogyny trumps out the racism, right?

I don't know. I'm honestly too horrified to try and think about it. It's weird, I'm not usually a prude but I think Sara watching it may have pushed me over the edge a bit.

I'm convinced this is why I get a complete mind-blank when I try to write porn. I can read it and like it but when I try to write it my brain starts to cry. Really it's sad. :'(

They kissed while drunk (I think they fell off the counter together) and had a big confrontation about it in the rain. I mostly remember it because somebody on my friendlist shipped them.

Naw, I'm all for the self watching. Sex in front of/against the mirror for example is total hot in my book.
