I hatehatehate pop-up ads. I especially hate that firefox can only block them from popping up as long as you don't click anything. But if you click a link, the site seems to be able to make them pop up anyway.

I often go to this site to download episodes of shows that I like. Originally, because I liked what the site did and I wanted to support ( Read more... )

I just had a look at that site, Sam. I use Opera and that seems to block the pop-ups just fine. You might like to give it a try.

Tell me a bit about Opera? Where do you get it? (And more importantly, can I set up a toolbar of the sites I'm always visiting??)

Opera is a fantastic browser, Sweetie. It's free (Get it here: http://www.opera.com/home.dml), easy to use, very good against spyware, Malware, Adware and Popups. You can drag bookmarks into your toolbar so you can reach sites easily. It has a built-in E-mail client and IRC client...

I love it. It supports RSS feeds and tabbed browsing, allows you to store notes and - I love this one - remembers where you were if you crash. It means if you were doing something and you crash you can pick-up from where you left off in page terms.

Trust me. It's fantastic. Plus, I don't know if you've encountered it, but sometimes you can tell firefox to download a file and it's sit around for a few minutes thinking about it before it actually does it. Opera is instant.
