i know a lot of younger voters were trying to keep conservative out, i wish it had worked better...

most younge people i talked to were voting NDP, and if it was not NDP they voted liberal to take the vote away from conservative....

this next year is going to be ... interesting... harper is going to fuck things up hardcore, hopefully in a year it won't be so far gone that it can be fixed.... many canadians are upset right now... i know i am :(

Yeah, a lot of the young voters did, but a lot of people (in the demographics that actually *vote*) voted Con just to get the Libs out. I don't think the split between Lib and NDP voting helped matters, either (on a riding by riding basis).

Well, that's democracy for you.

I still think we need electoral reform, but that's never gonna happen. :(

we need a lot of things that aren't going to be addressed any time soon.

in the mean time we have a new government that is trying to turn us into the united states when it comes to weaponry and harpers idealistics about being pro life, but anti-women *sigh*

Freaking Bloc Quebecois. Oh my gosh. I mean, I love Montreal, and Quebeckers tend to be good people, but those with power sure don't want to give it up. 51 seats on 10% of the popular vote -- Gosh, there isn't even anywhere for me to move to.

Sometimes it's such a shame to be a Canadian.

I am encouraged at the number of people who voted to "punish" the Liberals, though. It's almost as if they will come back after a few months, when they realize that the Cons can't make it work without teaming up with the Bloc and losing pretty much all credibility. Unless you think that Hell may have frozen over, and the Liberals will actually come to agreement with Harper...

Seriously. That shit ain't right, yo.

That's what I keep trying to tell Paul! We're just a little mad right now so we don't want to put out, but give us a bit of time to cool off and if he just hangs in there and brings us flowers, we'll be giving him some again in no time!

If liberals pair up with the bloc (and the ind) they can topple the govt! But ha, that'll be weird...
