dear santa, gimme gimme gimme (wishlist)
Yes, I'm doing it again this year. Why not, right?
STEP ONE
-Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
MY WISHLIST:
1. Veronica Mars, The Pretender or The Fifth Element on DVD. And yes, they are listed in order of preference. :)
2. Sailor Moon manga (I love it so much, but I only have volume 1 and I can't find it anywhere anymore.)
3. Someone to help me create a personal lj style. I don't mind making my own graphics (though it would be really awesome to have someone with way more talent than me help me out), but the coding confuses the heck out of me and if someone could take care of that part, that would be AWESOME.
4. Rec me books to read. I'm starved for a good book to curl up with, especially when it's cold, and I'm a little tired of reading online. My favourite genre is fantasy, but I love anything that's GOOD.
5. Make me cookies. Send me chocolate. Help me get fat to insulate myself against the Canadian winter! (Minus the fat part.)
6. Actually, if you can just make it NOT COLD in Canada this winter, you can pretty much forget everything I've said before this because there could not possibly be a better gift, ever!!!
7. I have a purse fetish. So a cute or sexy or trendy purse would be so appreciated. I especially want a flashy but tiny purse that I can take clubbing with me, or maybe one of those tiny things (like they have at Roots) that you can strap onto your wrist; it's just big enough to fit your id, money and lipstick in. That would be *awesome* because I hate trying to dance with a purse over my shoulder.
8. Dangle earrings. A girl can never have too many earrings, right? They're my jewelery of choice. My favourite are silver ones. :)
9. Please send me the mp3's of some music that I love but still don't have!:
