Outside of the story, a man has been watching avidly as the tragedy unfolds. He has sat comfortably in his rocking chair, he has sipped tea and grinned manically, and now his eyes flare wider than usual.
"What?" he exclaims to himself. "Impossible! Did she just say my name?"
Drosselmeyer's already impossibly wide eyes widen even further and his manic grin grows more wider.
"Aaaaaaah." He makes a tiny gestures and between one eyeblink and the next he's sitting in his rocking chair looking at Kraehe through a whole in space. "You have guts to call on me." He sounds like he is quite intrigued.
As she speaks he leans farther and farther forward in his chair. "You're right!" he exclaims.
Drosselmeyer's grin widens even farther and his voice takes on a conspiratorial tone. "And I have one I've been saving. A lake that no one has seen in over two hundred years."
He turns slowly to stare directly at Kraehe and lean forward with his insane grin. "Do allow me to show you the way."

She pauses slightly, and smiles. "That requires an appropriate stage, doesn't it?"
