I had time yesterday between work and rehearsal to finish the overskirt waistband, so now that really just needs hemming. I'm going to leave that to do at rehearsal tomorrow, since I will hopefully have a good 2-2.5 hours of hand-sewing availability while I'm there.
Today, I'm going to make a quick stop at Joanns on the way home to get ribbon for the bonnet ties, and then it's straight to working on the stripey bustle bodice I need to get sleeves, buttonholes, collar (if I do one), and at least the machine side of binding done tonight, or there's no way this will work for this weekend. I think that's feasible if I really buckle down tonight. Hopefully I have buttons in the stash that will work, since I honestly haven't even looked. Or maybe I'll pick up a couple covered button kits from Joanns today, just in case, since I usually like the look of those better anyway.
I still don't know how to make an accordion-pleated collar and cuffs like in the original inspiration, so honestly, I'll probably go with some lace trim and then figure that out later when I have more time. Do you know how to make accordion pleats without a fluting iron? If so, please tell me, since google has failed me on this.
