Hurricane Irene
Taking a break from fannish posts to say I'm watching Hurricane Irene move up the East Coast (from the safety of my living room a thousand miles away) and am hoping this thing won't be as dangerous as was originally thought a few days ago.
Seeing Manhattan turn into a ghost town (relatively speaking) when the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is only a few days away is kinda creepy.
Guess we're about to find out what happens when hurricane winds meet a city full of skyscrapers...
