Seeing as I don't have anything but icons up on this blog. That's very likely the majority of what will be on this blog, but at the same time I realize that despite the many themed-blogs I run on Tumblr, there isn't a single one I have for personal writing. Weird. So, here goes.
My name is Amy, and I am rather a hot mess. I turned 18 in June, and I got my Associate's Degree from New Mexico State University - Alamogordo this past August (2012). I am currently wasting time at home waiting for an enlistment process to carry through.
I want to be a linguist. I have taken it upon myself to learn several languages, some in a class and some on my own. I took Latin in school my seventh year, and then continued on with a private tutor (a grad-student at the University of Arizona) after I moved away from Florida. Some time between my seventh and eighth year I started on Japanese, and picked up the spoken part of the language quickly. I didn't have any intention to learn to write it, quickly lost my interest, and now I can only recognize a few phrases. So it goes. Since then, I have learnt Czech on my own, taken a year of Russian and a semester of German. Russian and the Slavic family of languages is one of the loves of my life.
Speaking of, I have had several more-or-less successful relationships in my life. Successful - not in that they are still going on, but that they have helped me to learn something important in my life: how to survive, how to care, how to learn, and most importantly when to recognize the red flags and other danger signs of a tricky, dying relationship. My boyfriend, Jacob, is the love of my life. I can feel it, he can feel it, and Time is telling it. You will probably learn a lot about him, through me.
That's - really all you need to know about me for this to function.
