Oh, I get it, they're like knishes. (Which I only tried to make once, from a really bad recipe.) I should give this a try sometime.

Yes! They're a nummy Russian meat pastry, only slightly different from dozens of other meat pastries. But meat pastries are my absolute favorite form of food, and I have a recipe for each separate kind - even when the difference is so small as bleached white flour vs unbleached whole wheat!

They're really easy, and come out extremely light and fluffy!

I hate to say it but I don't eat meat. But I'm sure you can stuff them with other things, like you can with knishes.

Oh yes, you can put anything in them! Herb and veggie stuffing is delicious inside of them! And mushroom and rice, too.
