Life in general.
Today I woke up at 12. Yes, 12 noon, which is the latest I've ever woken up this year. I've gotten into a state [oh no] of sleeping late and waking up really late, which is not good! Anyway, I rushed over to have lunch with Mum and Kelly and Devi and Eileen. It was a farewell lunch for myself and Eileen [who is leaving to take care of her baby Christian; she'll be part-timing at IJ now(!!)], as well as a congratulatory lunch for Devi who, after something like a decade of hardwork, is finally being promoted to Executive. And she so deserves it! We had lunch at Fish Mart Sakuraya [did I get the name right?] at West Coast Plaza. The tempura was quite yummy, and the sushi wasn't bad. Not terribly fantastic, but not bad. The ebi fry sushi [which I THINK is fried prawn sushi] was nicer than the california maki. The chawanmushi was very very yummy. All nice and soft and eggy- my favourite!
After doing the Big Room clean-up on Monday [I think I posted about it], I sat down to paint my toe nails. They are an awesome red-pink-purple [indeterminate] colour now.
Uh. Actually, I meant to say that I found my old cross stitch pieces from ages ago, but my nails demanded air time. I used to cross stitch. That is, I would, with all good intention, get started on a piece. Before I reached the halfway mark, I would bog down. And then I'd keep it aside. Then a year later it would come out again for a bit of creative stitchery [my word for absolutely terrible stitching] before disappearing again for a year. This time I was determined to finish at least one of them, so for the past few days I've been dutifully stitching away. Some domestic goddess must have waved an arm over me, because my cross stitching has actually improved. It's faster and infinitely prettier. I used to pull the threads soooo tight that they just left it looking awfully hole-y. Anyway in 3 days, I've completed more a third of the piece and should be going off to finish the last bits soon. Thank goodness!
