i take joy in that our love grows
It's winter break! I left school early and went out for sushi with friends and when I got home, I realized just how tired I was. It's been really stressful and I'm glad to have some time off. I have the first draft for a huge term project to do and lots of tests when I get back to school though. I really don't feel like I have time for everything and this break is way too short but I'm going to try to enjoy it.
The majority of my break will probably be marathoning cheesy movies and Band of Brothers (woooe, I want to order the DVDs). The only thing that's missing is some hot chocolate.
After a terrible experience with Queer as Folk: UK (Sorry, Charlie Hunnam. I tried) I dived into Primeval. This show was so much fun to watch. Dinosaurs! Adorable people being frustrating and refusing to profess their love for each other!
Honestly at first, I felt like this about the show:
Then I realized what other show is going to have dinosaurs fight one another (T-Rex v.s Future Predator who will win?) and just went with it.
Series 1 and 2:
It took me a while to get into it but I eventually accepted everything cheesy and lol about this show.
I have to point out Connor Temple's wardrobe. Oh man, he made the worst shirt combos in series 1. It just became oddly endearing to me at some point because only Connor Temple would think that fingerless gloves were necessary in every single mission and oh dear, this boy wore a vest over like everything. Fuzzy sweaters, hoodies, etc Connor put a vest on it. When he began to dress like a normal person, I was so sad.
Almost everything Connor Temple does is adorable or my Andrew Lee Potts love is blinding. Except when he gets all red and teary eyed. That post 'I love you' scene with Abby was so frustrating and sad. It reminded me a lot of that Alice/Hatter scene from Alice where I just want someone to be honest and say what they feel already.
Steeeephen. James Murray is a hotass. I never felt like Stephen was a fully fleshed out character but I really missed him on the show. Really, what was so appealing about that bitch Helen other than her constant cleavage, Stephen? I always thought Stephen would be more interesting if he got into a love triangle with Abby and Connor. Abby/Stephen were so cute together. :( I felt like they just dropped that storyline but I can understand Abby not digging him about the affair reveal.
GUH NICK CUTTER. I love Nick Cutter as a character and am mildly attracted to him. I don't even know. I guess if I really shipped anyone on this show, it would be Nick/Jenny. They were so snarky and fun with each other. I wish they had had more time together so Jenny could be more than Claudia Brown to Nick.
Series 3:
Cast changes especially in the form of deaths are so hard for me (I still refuse to believe what happened to Adam from Spooks Deeeenial) That raptor gets a gold star from me for pushing off Helen that cliff. Yeah, that's what you get for killing Nick.
I think the show dropped in quality in series 3. I mean, I love Danny, it's hard not to because he's so charming but it just isn't the same! I don't feel a thing for Sarah though. Becker, I like because he has great interaction with everyone and he's attractive (I'm shallow, I know)
Abby and Connor as mommy and daddy of lost dinosaurs is adorable and did he name those little beaver/gopher dinosaurs Sid and Nancy? Aw, too cute.
