Just as well I didn't stay up - I woke at 6, when Streatham was supposed to declare after a recount.
Result at 7.20 am: Labour's Chuka Umunna won, nearly 4000 votes ahead of the Lib Dem Chris Nicholson. We shall see if he does anything other than toe the party line, but he'll probably be quite good on local issues.
A record number of MPs stood down at this election (over 140), so add in new winners and that's about 1/3 of the Commons who will be new. Culture change or simply a repeat of the Blair Babes who just played follow-my-leader? We shall see.
