Pancakes for President

Feb 06, 2008 11:21

On Monday I found out about the Democrat primary for expats being held yesterday. However I forgot to take my passport to work, so gave up on that to devote my evening to making pancakes instead.

4 eggs-worth of batter and two large frying pans was sufficient for three people. Fillings included crunchy vegetable stir-fry with soy sauce, bacon and mushrooms, strawberries, banana and maple syrup, and the classic lemon juice and sugar. Luckily I already had a couple bottles of lemon juice, as the supermarket had sold out! A damn fine meal if I say so myself.

Newsnight suggested that results from Super Tuesday would be out around 5am, an hour after polls closing in California. Checked Ceefax which had bare bones info and decided to buy a paper, only to find that the paper guy at the station had sold out for the first time ever. However looks like few results are out yet - AP predict so far 582 delegates for Clinton, 562 Obama. The unpledged delegates might be the decider...

ION, Wickes may have taken two months to build a window promised within 3 weeks, but I can't fault their delivery drivers. It was supposed to turn up today. They called Conflux last night and asked if he'd like it brought round, so it came at 9pm yesterday!
Hopefully 4 of us can lift it into place this evening.
