Alan Cumming's arse and captioned words for only a fiver! Bargain!
Although I might suggest they refer to one's 'companion' rather than 'carer', thank you very much, seeing as anyone coming with to that performance qualifies.
Just made my first captioned phone calls which went rather well - the Webcaptel person said they'd try putting more people on between 4 and 5pm as I've failed to get through a few times, and would refer to management my request for service say until 7pm, so I can ring IT people. Minor quirk with the Lyric theatre as it registered my pressing option 1 but then wouldn't accept option 3, but option 1 again got me to a nice person in the main box office who didn't bat an eyelid when the first thing I said to them was "Hello, one moment while the interpreter catches up". Which is probably the main advantage of voice carry-over, you can explain what's happening rather than them thinking you've been cut off when there's a pause.
Sadly it's now 5 pm so I can't call our useless telecoms people. Unfortunately the one in charge who I knew quite well has retired, and the two left seem to be permanently not answering phone/email/doing anything useful.
