Heh, "Grovel grovel, ignore half of the complaint and hope Dr Kumquat won't notice". I'd say it was worth pointing out and asking them to inform all the distributors who are still advertising with an IR system.

Also ask the theatre to put up an OBVIOUS sign in the theatre itself advising that the IR system is out of order and that anyone who needs one can get tickets for another night or a refund. I would be an awful lot less pissed off if there was a sign which let me know it wasn't me being crap.

While I was attending Sheffield University the auditorium (big lecture theatre) in the students' union had their loop system b0rked by someone drilling through the wire in multiple places (don't ask). It took the University and Union 18 months to fix as each passed the buck to the other denying ownership of the auditorium and blaming the other for the damage.

In the interim I asked them to cover up the 'loop system' sign and put a small apology next to it - 'they' ignored my request. I wrote my own sign and stuck it next to the 'loop here' sign with my email address for people to ask me more. Someone kept removing it, so I replaced it virtually daily until a temporary loop system was fitted by the Student Film Society geeks and a sign placed to advise deafies to sit in specific seats. I think they got LARTed by one of the Hardcore _D_eafies from Hallam as well *grin*.

The only thing worse than a broken access system, is a broken system which isn't sign-posted as broken with an apology and someone to talk to about it.

In fact I think my brain is working enough again for me to attempt to revamp my loop-watch website. If you're going to be good and stroppy and kicking off, I should do my bit too.
