A little "getting to know you" meme

Here's the original text as I picked it up:

Here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she wears mismatched socks." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people ( Read more... )

Hmm, a cowboy, a six-shooter, the number seven...I wonder what those represent? ::grin:: Sounds like a fun collection. Could be an expensive one, too, if you don't keep it specialized. I try to specialize my Disney pin collection, but I have all these oddball pins that aren't in my usual area of interest that are just So Cute that I can't let them go...::sigh::

I like to watch (to my utter horror) Steven Segal movies. The plot never changes, they're all the same, and he's not much to look at but for some reason I love his movies.

Well, I'll admit to seeing a couple of his flicks. I rather liked that one with the battleship going into mothballs being taken over by terrorists...Tommy Lee Jones was in it, too. Can't remember the name offhand.

Hi, Chuck. Pleased to meet you. I take it you're a Civil War re-enactor? I've seen some of those groups in action and admire the attention to detail and devotion they bring to it. Now as close to the war as I've become is watching the Ken Burns documentary all the way through. Several times.

I joined our church's handbell choir 2.5 years ago... I LOVE playing handbells! I never knew it would be such a rush. :)

Handbells? I love the sound of handbells. Some of the arrangements are so clever, too. It must be fun to be in the middle of something with so many other people. And something musical, too. Makes me miss my glee club days in high school.

As a former band geek (alto sax), I really enjoy making music with a group of fellow musicians. We're fortunate in that our director is a great ringer, and picks challenging music for us to ring. Plus we get to move around so we aren't playing the same balls all the time. I like that.

I had a brief flirtation with chorus in junior high. Now that I'm in our church choir, I wish I had stayed with it in school. I love to sing. I don't have the best voice, but it is decent for group singing.

Yeah, there's something about making music with other people, whether voice or instrumental, that's just plain exhilarating. Especially if it's something a little challenging.
