She logs into Instagram and Twitter, scrolling through friends' updates and mentions before looking at mentions and notifications. Fans and anti-fans like to share their praise and criticisms, which comes with being a public figure. Remarks about her looks, her figure, her singing, her acting are all under scrutiny, and she's gotten used to it, as much as she can. Some comments still sting, particularly about her members, sister and Jongin. Somehow, netizens blame her for Sunyoung's solo not doing well, but Krystal has no say in it. She hasn't made any statement either way about joining Jessica, and she won't until she's ready, but ever since her relationship with Jongin, one of her absolute best friends, was revealed to the public, it seems like the absolute worst trash of the internet crept out.
EXO remains one of the most popular and demanded boy groups in the industry. f(x) enjoys a milder popularity, grateful and loving to their devouted fans. The rift in popularity is obvious, and Krystal sees it even more online, from EXO-L netizens who all seem to have expectations for Jongin's life and idealistic standards for his girlfriend and future wife. Standards Krystal doesn't fulfil.
Turning off her phone, she tucks it back under her leg and slouches against the wall, half-heartedly watching the practice and waving when Jongin looks her way.
Victoria and Luna flank her on either side, draping a large blanket over them all, and Amber sprawls over the floor with her upper body cradled on Krystal's lap. She appreciates the company and distraction of conversation, although it doesn't alleviate the tightness in her chest as she watches Jongin perfect every movement and each smouldering look as a unit with EXO.
They hardly see each other outside of practice and work, though, so she settles back between her friends and watches her boyfriend dance.
