Mission Accomplished!

For the first time since I started working this summer (so, like a month and a half) I had two days off in a row! And I actually made them two relatively productive days off as well, which is what really makes me feel good! At work on Sunday I made a list of like 15 things I needed to get done on these two days off and I, believe it or not, completed the list! No I'm not lying. Really. Yesterday I got most of the things done. I went to the bank and fixed a problem I was having with accessing my credit card online and then had my credit limit increased (I felt that would be a good idea since I'm having a car at school, just in case something happens because I dont usually keep alot of my money on my debit card). I finished planting my remaining veggies and figured out how to somewhat contain my cucumber plant, which has suddenly gone from half-dead to taking over the patio! Yesterday I also went with my mother to visit my nana at the nursing home in Nahant. I hadn't seen her since Easter, thus this was my first time visiting her at the nursing home. I was kind of nervous beforehand because I didn't really know what to expect because she hadn't recognized me on Easter and I knew the Alzheimer's has gotten worse since then. In short, I was afraid she might react badly to my visiting. Thankfully, she knew who I was and was really happy to see me, which was awesome. Ironically, I almost didn't recognized he at first because she's aged so much since the last time I saw her. I was also pleasantly surprised by the nursing home, it was like a really big old house and it's right on the water, nice and quiet, and rather small. I seemed like a nice place to be if you have no choice in the matter I guess. We brought her a frosty from Wendy's and she absolutely devoured it, which was good because she doesnt really eat too much anymore...I mean it's not exactly healthy but anything is good at this point. Then there was this dog that she loves and she got to feed it cookies which was kind of funny. It was a really nice visit until we had to leave, she wanted to go with us and then she was like why can't I go home and got really upset and started to cry and it was so sad. I mean she doesnt remember any of this but still. So even though leaving her was really hard I still enjoyed visiting her and I know deep down she enjoyed it as well. And I think it helps my mom to have someone there with her when she goes. So hopefully I'll be going back soon. Today I had a dentist apt. that was really quick which was nice, and there were some crazy storms here too, apparently there was a tornado sighting in Topsfield (like three towns over from me) and it hailed here and almost killed my plants, which I ran outside to move fortunately. Then it got really dark, so dark the streetlights came on! It was kind of creepy actually haha. And the loudest thunder I've ever heard almost scared me into falling down the stairs at one point. So yeah that was fun. Today I also had time to practice my guitar, I haven't had too much time lately and I finally got some power chords down I've been trying to learn so that was encouraging. It's back to work tomorrow though, so I should probably be getting to bed. Mas tarde amigos!
