Goddamnit. After I upgraded my MAC, Xjournal died. Fucker.
Well, I've finally realized what I have to do to get myself to shut the fuck up about not looking old enough to cosplay Tonks. (I will be the only 30 year old woman getting carded, I swear

Ironically, the original plan was student!Tonks. For like. Five seconds.
But then I, in my brilliance, thought 'why not spare myself the trouble of making a full uniform and just make an auror's robes and use the most random, garrish stuff I can find in my closet for clothes?' and it would be easy. But I underestimated my anality and it turned out being more difficult than it should have been. Between the back and forth on the robes and the endless make up tests to make me look at least my age? Two, three months have passed. Now small black robes with yellow cotton lining? Yes please. (Actually, if you want to do adult!Tonks I could prolly send you the auror's robes if you need it!)
You'd think that would be the end of my troubles, right? One day into it and I'm already going into a small fit over finding bright grey contacts that would work on brown eyes. This has been nothing if not epic.
(Bill Weasley's worst transfiguration accident).
I would fly to England just to molest you for that.

I might take you up on the Auror's robes although I'm a weird size (short, round and huge Breasts of Doom) so it would depend on whether or not they'd actually fit. I was debating on buying a wig to be some sort of Tonks. I have a cheap pink spikey one but I'm thinking the movie version might be more flattering on me. Or not.
As I said, I'm short, round and have big breasts of Doom. There is no way in 1000 years that I could pull off boydrag even if I tried. (I'd need serious plastic surgery and I am not that desperate!) But I do have slightly longer than shoulder length red hair and pierced ears (and a bear claw earring -- never underestimate a Keith Richards fangirl) and a Gryffindor costume so...yeah. Poor Bill. If it's not too hot in London in July, I may do it one day at Sectus.

I'm short too =Db 5"0. BUT! I made the robes long as all Hell because I'd been watching way too much Star Wars prequels and was all hopped up on Trisha Briggar costumes. I'll take a picture and send it to you and then you can tell me if you want them shorter or not. Red okay?
Wig wise they have some good selection.
Good short and spiky They have both cotton candy pink and hot pink. I have the cotton candy pink myself and I think it's awesome.
Movie!Wig Maybe a little too long, though? They have some good color choices.

I have said it once, I have said it many times. I think I love you.

Some of the other foody scents work well though. I also seem to do poorly with their jasmine which goes all soapy on me. I have a bottle of Bearded Lady which I need to part with (hell, I have like 100 imps to part with too and never get to listing them for sale. :-p) O and Snake Oil and Whip are my 3 fave GCs and then I've got a terrible love for stuff like Peacock Queen, Boomslang, Harvest Moon (any year), Samhain (any year but esp. 04) and weirdly anything Pink (original Pink Moon, Pink Phoenix etc).
I'm about 5 ft 3 but no one ever thinks I'm that short cos I'm wide too. I'd love to see the picture of the robes and yeah, red is good. Don't kill yourself on them now - as it is, I am not sure what I'm taking to London with me because robes take up so much damn room (I have my Gryffindor robes which are suiting fabric/broadcloth lining and also were from 2 years ago when I was about 30 lbs heavier).
I've actually got Cosworx.com bookmarked but keep putting off buying wigs. I should really decide if I'm going to do this for Sectus or not considering I've only got another 5 weeks before I leave. Ack!

*blushes* I was definitely into dressing up like Keef in the 80s. I still have my huge-ass sterling silver skull ring what I bought at the local headshop/leather shop/hippie store when I was in grad school. I love that thing. If I ever wanted to dress as Bellatrix, it would be awesome.

I keep hearing about Wip and Harvest Moon. I really need to put in an order already X( Greed, Lust and De Sade are others I hear a lot of good things about. I always want to try out the Cheshire Cat scent from Alice, simply because.. It's Cheshire Cat.
Alright. Well. Tell you what. I need to get my pictures from London off my camera anyway, so I'll get pictures of the robes then and you can decide! But really, it'd be no trouble for me. I'm going stir crazy from lack of things to do.
I used to do cosplay, heavily, before I switched journals and found Hp-dom, so this stuff is still pretty much reflex for me. Cosworx has in the past probably gotten easily over $300 from me =P

5 weeks?! Ugh! Goddamn you, lucky! I demand a shit load of pictures >(

Which brings to mind that, indeed, I do think Bella would be a Keith fangirl. At the very least Alice Cooper. At least would have been in her teen years.

I used to do a lot of costuming for fun at conventions. Then I got fat and boring and stopped. Now I sort of am doing it again but rarely have the opportunity to do anything. Or it's inconvenient (i.e. I wanted to do the full student drag for Goblet of Fire but it was in NYC and I'm in the 'burbs and sitting on a Long Island Rail Road train for 90 minutes in a robe in November is a baaaad idea.
I will do my best re: pictures. I need to buy myself a digital camera and a biiiig memory card post haste!
I think you're right about Bella and Keef. Especially in his late 60s/early 70s phase. Of course, Bellatrix is probably just Anita Pallenberg with darker hair, isn't she? The Black Queen from Barbarella!
Whip's just amazing. I really love all BPAL's rose scents except maybe Rose Red (it's a bit too green) but Red Rose + Leather? Heavenly. I only have 2 10 ml bottles in my possession and they're Snake Oil and Whip.

Dude. Otakon. Baltimore. August. 3 hour lines. Huge ass costumes, and one year black costumes at that. THE HEAP OF FUN THAT IS =D Though it was great, one year we got lost and ended up in the ghetto. In full costume. Another time this one guy asked me if I was with 'that japanese porn convention.' Considering I was maybe 15 at the time the urge to go 'Yes. Yes I am.' was quite strong. Baltimore can be so fun.
One day you must share your costuming day stories.
Wait. Hot shit. NY? *goes to profile* Dude. I have no idea why but I always thought you were in the west coast or something. How often do you go into NYC? I head up there all the time. One day we should get together and have fangirl night. The best kind of Harry Potter fans are ones in groups and piss drunk.

You'd better. Also, you guys need to go to King's Cross station for platform 9 3/4. I took like. Eighteen pictures of it and the station for reference because, indeed, I am that sad. But it is made of so much win.

Oh my God. That lead to Barbarella!Bellatrix and.. The thought.. It braught tears to my eyes. In the best possible way. Dude. Just think about it.

I think we'll get to King's Cross etc. There's a Potter walking tour the con is arranging but it's on Monday when only I'll be around. And probably starting earlier than I normally would be up. I have to see.
LOL Well, Black Queen!Bellatrix and Barbarella!Narcissa. Or Andromeda. Or Ginny. LMAO.
