Raideeeeeennnnnnn!

Please don't faint, I'm actually posting now I have some spare time (at 1:30am).
So to kick things off, as the title suggests, I don't think Raiden is a possibility for amecon for several reasons. Firstly, being a perfectionist seems to have its down sides, and I'm not just talking about costumes either. Secondly, moving house has got in the way. Thirdly, me and heat aren't exactly the best of bedfellows and add neoprene to the mix and you get something only a sadomasacist would be willing to pay for.
As most of you know we've been planning on moving house for a while. Now me being me, I tend to plan things in meticulous detail (very dexter like) in the hope that it resembles an approximation of what I expect (approximation? who am I kidding?). Anyway, we've known the contract has been ending mid June so I starting looking for place just after Christmas. Okay, maybe a little early, but I wanted to understand the market. I stressed about price, location, size of rooms etc. Now while this may be trivial to some people, I have experienced many oddities of the London houing market and have no wish to repeat them. If you want to know about the time I lived in a prison-style room for a year while writing my PhD, with a child-sized bed, then buy me a beer and I'll tell you. Anyway, I think I've found us a place that ticks most of the boxes and the refurbishment issues have been finalised. Once we're in we'll invited people around.
Now on to costumes. As most of you know I tend to go for simpler costumes that require little thought. I wish. No acually I don't. I like the challenge but my cosplaying appetite is sometimes a little bigger than my ability, but that doesn't stop me. Time however, is one thing I seem unable to control, for the moment (Work is a testament to that). So I tend to lag behind my predictions. One valuable lesson I learnt while writing my thesis was to take the time you think you'll require and multiple it by five to get the actual time required. So this has led me to acknowledge that Raiden will not be done, to the standard I like, for amecon. But it will appear, probably at auchinawa hopefully.
In the mean time I am looking at other costumes for ame, namely Edgeworth, RKO Tres and possibly Grey Fox as a precusor to Raiden. Just to please Dez, I am still in search of earth and intending to do the costume where "no-one else can do the things you do". For everyone else, this is the 80's costume that I have been planning for a while, namely Ulysses from Ulysses 31. It's going to be strange wih a beard. I just don't know when this will be for yet.
In other news, work is progressing well if a little full on.
I have no idea why I'm a posh cat in odangochan's animal line up. I'm a northern guy from a northern village with proper northern blood pumping through his veins, can I be a posh cat? Because I am from the north, not that I like to go on about it. But I'm part of the north, my heart is in the north and when I bleed I bleed northern blood. I am the north made flesh! But like I say I don't like to go on about it.
But Mark you definately are a peacock!
