The mysteries of the universe...

So last night I attended a lecture by the great theoretical physicist Kip Thorne. This guy is elite, eats dinner with Steven Hawkings and was close friends with Carl Sagan.

Anyway, Thorne was talking about how a group of scientists are developing a method to observe blackholes and other warp objects using gravity waves. And by using gravity waves they'll be able to look back in time to when the universe was only 10 ^-43 seconds old, when time began...

The odd thing that came to my mind was that since there really was the Big Bang, and since the singularity that created the big bang was more or less spontaneous, then there must be some truth to the Christian Mythos of Genesis. The thought occured to me that if we were able to look far enough back, we may actually be able to whitness the moment of creation. Within twenty or so years, we'll have the technology to do so, yet regardless of how accurately we can view the universe nor how far back we can observe events, there is one flaw.

In order to look back to the moment of the Big Bang, time would have to exist. If we can only look back to within the slightest fraction of a second of when the universe began, then we can never whitness the beginning, therefore never see the act of creation nor the creator.

Science, despite all of its power, accuracy, and now irrevocable proof, still can't provide a reason why the universe began.

And with that being said I believe it only follows that religion or belief still have relevance and still have answers.
