"Will? Did you hear what I just said?" Molly's voice is dripping with impatience. It's her default emotion when it comes to him these days.

Not that Will can blame her for it. Molly was, as she put it, "paid up". Like all the king's horses and all the king's men she'd done everything she could to put Will back together again. The problem with Will was the same problem with Humpty Dumpty - not all of the pieces were there. Their marriage had hobbled along for almost two full years after Francis Dolarhyde. Two years of surgeries, of therapy visits for Will, for Willy and for Molly. Two years of dodging interviews from every major news agency in the states. Dodging too any contact, even the slightest with the Buffalo Bill case.

It was two years before Molly started fucking the guy from the hardware store. Will didn't begrudge her that. Molly was always fantastic at sex; beautiful and confident and totally uninhibited and he couldn't remember the last time he'd even attempted to touch her. The combination of sociopaths in his head and anti-depressant meds in his bloodstream successfully killed Will's sex drive.

Molly finally got fed up and Will wasn't even in a place where he could pretend to care. She and Willy moved out to Oregon to be closer to her parents (which was oddly enough when Will realized how much of a prick he'd become - because Molly loathed her parents)and Will sold the place in Marathon and just slipped off the radar. He'd even tried going back to New Orleans but it hadn't been a good fit when he was a boy and it certainly didn't fit him as a man.

There were six reconstructive surgeries on his face over the years. The process fascinates him. Most of the surgeries are to repair the structural damage to his nose and lips. He looks less like a Picasso now and more like a Seurat. From a distance he looks completely normal, it's only up close that someone can see what a mess he really is.

Even with the surgeries - Will keeps his scars.
