Apparently -- no joke -- Barack Obama's middle name is Hussein.  Republicans have already started calling him "Barack Hussein Obama."  There's pretty much no way he can win the general with the name that's just one letter off Senator Hussein Osama.

Oh, well, the speculation was fun while it lasted.

when I was in the first grade I participated in a class presidential vote. I chose reagan because I liked his name better. so glad the rest of america is in line with my 6-year-old thinking...

and you probably liked the color red better than blue too, i would imagine -- nothing to do with politics. i just have this memory of kids taunting me for liking carter and his blue states even all the way back in 1980, which would be, uh, third grade?

this was before my brief junior high fascist interregnum, which ended in high school.
