They represent corporations? Ha! That's a good one. That would mean they actually look out for SOMEONE'S interests, but no, I think government inefficiency and the ever failing search for "the greater good" has lead them to be completely misrepresentational of EVERYONE.
Why?
Because they are at the whim of what the masses want because they want to give the people what they want to get their equivalent of an ejactulation of power... Sloppy, 10 second sex... 4 years of a position in government! Now you too can "fix" things for four years! Because you really "care" about the people...
So as Joe Politican sits with his thumb up his ass wondering what the fuck he's suppossed to do or jacking off to the prospect of forcing people to conform to what he sees as the greater good, he gets little notices from his secretary about idiotic groups that form and scream loudly about some non-issue that has somehow become a government issue.
And so Mr. Joe Politican does his best to listen to the psychotic extremists who blugeon his ears with impossible requests to solve non-issue "problems."
Then Mr. Joe Politician, being such a wonderful guy, goes about his way of sating these people's needs in hopes that it will get him slightly higher in the polls so that they overlook whatever scandal his oppossition has focused on in a smear campaign instead of actually doing their job and trying to "put things right" (whatever the hell that means.)
No, they do not represent corporations.
They represent the combined ignorance of our society as a whole.
People don't have a fucking clue what they want, but they'll be damn sure to tell you what they don't like.
So while they cry about how they want things to be fixed or erased, they don't even take the moment to consider what sort of impact it may have...
...And neither does Mr. Politican, cause he is for the people first, and rationality and sensibility second...
And the country continues its downward spiral.
Because this is a DEMOCRACY. And the people should have all the choices!
But we don't, we just elect our dictators... Who spend their time trying to appease the largest group of voting morons.
Because campaigns aren't won with issues. They are won with non-issues.
And trying to make a difference is a great way to get ousted out of office because, you know, actually doing something means rocking the boat.
Representational government? Ha. There is no such thing.
