Desentized by televison and assorted horror movies, you are quickly able to snap out of the trance this morbid scene has put you in. You begin to investigate some of the medical carts. Chunks of brain-matter on one cart. A pile of dark-brown livers on another. Assorted muscle tissue on still another. In the midst of thanking this godless world for blessing you with a strong stomach, you are surprised to see the disappearing triage nurse helping to sedate a "subject" who had apparently awakened from sedation. Instantly, you notice that the top of the subject's skull has been removed revealing a pink-grey brain with flecks of red interspersed throughout many sulci and gyri.
A light tap on your shoulder reveals a small female nurse who informs you that you must come to the "waiting section" while she goes to notify your mother that you are here to pick her up. The waiting area (which is just an open space with chairs within the "operating field") is full of people who seem to be attracted like moths to a light-source to the latest news broadcast. However, with the images you have just witnessed, you find it very difficult to even glance up at the radiating idiot-box. But you do feel like sitting down.
As you study the figures before you, you notice a tiny figure making its way through the crowd. You quickly realize that the figure is a probably a dwarf, but adorns a nurse's uniform. Normally, this sight would lead you to internal questioning of the situation, however, this is not your concern at the moment as you observe the syringe the tiny figure holds in its hand as it injects an unknown substance into the femoral artery of one of the cattle.
And as you watch the body drop to the floor and the tiny figure disappear into the depths of the herd, it is at this point that you realize you must get out of this place.
