Wow, I'm really behind.. I totally missed this post.. which seems to be a more angry version of my own :D

I agree with you, though I don't think 'complaining' is the problem here. Telling people how bad you have it is kind of a bragging right these days, like comparing accident scars..

And when someone says that they're ugly, unless they're incredibly close to you, they're not serious. No one who thought they were seriously ugly would talk like they were sad about it to someone they don't know. There is complaining, there's fishing for compliments, and there's being funny.. If you're close, you do the first, if you're not, you're doing the second, and if you're me (with my awesome sense of humour), you be the funny. BE it. But seriously, complaining isn't even complaining anymore. People don't WANT to do anything to help themselves.. because the shit they're complaining about is cool to bitch about or isn't that bad.

Now on the subject of honesty, you know my policy, which is a zero-tolerance for bullshit policy.. it's something I expect from others and very rarely receive back. It's all about not hurting peoples feelings, but the truth hurts, and if I'm also providing you with some great advice that could make the situation optimistic, why be mad and/or sad? People don't know what they want, Mark.. they really don't. So it's either we continue to give what they don't want, or, and I'm going to start this, just give them to most basic fake advice ever heard to man and make sure they know how sarcastic/ironic you're being. That way they never ask you for advice again.. because you'll make fun of them. I would hate to be so mean, but if you're going to be a jackass and get upset about getting solid and honest advice, you deserve to be made fun of.

P.S. Ugly peoples need lovin' too, Mark.. I elect you to be bringer of said lovin's to those folk who are.. let's say.. aesthetically challenged. Be a buddy, fuck an ugly. *lol*
