So from thursday to saturday I was in the one and only Las Vegas for a U2 concert and to catch LOVE at the Mirage. Love was fantastic, beautifully choreographed and staged.
U2, on the other hand, absolutely blew me away. They do it everytime. It's like, just when I thought maybe they're new album was meh, and that maybe Bono's voice was not in the same range it used to be,I was proved wrong. Their preformance, regardless of the staging, was so powerfilled and spiritual. They sounded incredible, the music was left ringing in my ears for 2 days straight-but a good kind of ringing, the ringing that reminds you of how affective and forceful the show was. I immediately regretted not having ROSE BOWL tickets right after the show. What was I thinking? I know they're gonna do another leg of the tour, but I just need to be in their presence more and more-it's like they deliever to your heart and mind a feeling of hope and delieverance. I met the band back in March of 09 in Hollywood by chance, and it was an awesome experience (with Bono signing my pants, no less)-but seeing them in concert almost surpasses that, because their music carries so much meaning and bliss.
I hope they do some more shows in California or Nevada on the next leg, for I know one thing: I'll be there.
