shows, hoes and clothes- all a brotha knows-- er knew?
so usually when people ask me what i've been up to, what's up, blah blah blah... i respond with "shows, hoes and clothes- all a brotha knows!". it's a play on notorious b.i.g's "money, hoes and clothes- all a brotha knows!". but god damn it, i can't even say that lately. there have been next to no shows for the past several months (thank god sxsw month is coming up), i've got a girlfriend now so that pretty much rules out hoes as a past time (or so she says. who the fuck knew?) and i've been too broke to buy clothes lately. SHIT!
but you know, even if there were shows and i had money in my pocket then what? "shows, a monogamous relationship and clothes- all a brotha knows!"
man, that shit just doesn't work as well. but you know, even jay-z went and settled down so i figure it's time for a hustler to try out this whole relationship thang and needless to say, it's completely fucking foreign to me. i think i keep making mistakes out of complete ignorance of how relationships are supposed to work.
(for example, she went out of town for a week and when she got back she asked me if i missed her. well shit, after all the time i had been spending with her and as accostumed to time to myself as i am i thought it was a nice break. so i was like "naw. i was cool. it was actually kind of nice to have a break." and apparently that isn't the right answer. who knew you're supposed to say something tactful like "i noticed you weren't around." instead?)
luckily she's patient with me. i guess she understands this is all new ground to me. man, is this a real journal entry? i must be bored. wait, it must be the monogamous relationship thang reducing a brotha to real journal entry gayness rather than just posting conversations of me making fun of people or telling tales of my brilliantly hilarious escapades. what the... so right. ladies, cry your eyes out. i've got a girlfriend....
