it's very rarely fatal. but the picture the person above me painted isn't too far from the truth. i don't have a colostomy bag, and god damned if i won't strongly consider ending it all if it ever comes to that, but it's not a pleasant illness. in my particular case, i've been healthy since i had surgery in september. well, actually, call me healthy by november, because i spent all of september in the hospital, all of october healing up and attached to a IV for nutrition and such, and i didn't get unhooked til' around thanksgiving. i've been healthy since then, but before september i spent at least half of my time bed ridden. never healthy for more than a few months at a time... it's just not pleasant....
