Family is important to me, but I've never realised exactly how much that influences my writing. As I am once again tinkering away with prose in the fiction format it's becoming very clear. A family is just such a core. The origin of so much drama and the best way of understanding any character.
I take great joy out of writing them as well. There is a dynamic to a family that is beyond fascinating. Not to mention it is a pure pleasure to work out family relations and writing their interactions in a way that hints at reality, but still provides enough exotic escapism for it to be an interesting or compelling read.
Yeah, I just really love families.
