Santana’s parents and their struggle to accept their daughter.
Brittana - I want to see a couple being together and actually supporting one another when things get rough. None of that cheating or ambivalence that has plagued most couples to date. Rather that they show the strain an external force in the form of disapproving parents can have on a relationship. And show how even though something like that can be an obstacle, it is also things like that which will cause a bond to grow so strong that it will turn unbreakable.
Then I want Quinn be allowed to develop on her own. No boyfriends. No relationship drama. Just Quinn looking for a future, a reason and a cause to leave Lima. I want her to be allowed to dream big and beyond High School. See her work on the relationships she has with her friends. Lets see her touch on the pain of giving up Beth. And for once, please let us see her happy.
Cut the Finchel crap. They are not nor will they ever be Ross/Rachel so quite trying to make fetch happen. Either have them together or break them apart, no more of this boring inability to commit - it’s as entertaining as indigestion.
Finn - if you keep portraying this guy as the hero, then follow through by showing that in his actions. Stop the childish selfishness that have destroyed everything that was pretty or nice with him in the first season. He is too old to act like a toddler, and I’m not talking about his dancing.
Since they’ve decided to keep Blaine then at least kill Klaine. Their relationship lacks even the most basic chemistry and they are too similar for it to be interesting to watch their interactions. Take Blaine away from Kurt’s side and let him develop on his own. Mix up the arrogance with more of the fear that we’ve seen lingers in him. Make him interesting instead of giving us more of the pompous ass.
And Kurt needs a boyfriend who treats him like an equal, someone who appreciates him for who he is. Someone who doesn’t repeatedly talk down to him and feel the need to be his mentor, but someone who can be his partner. Kurt needs to start believing in his own worth so that others can as well.
Remember that time when Mercedes was friends with Kurt and Quinn. Yeah, me too and I kind wish the show would as well. I don’t necessarily need to see her with a love interest (which seems to be the fandoms general opinion), I just want to see her. I want to see that incredibly generous side of hers that made her reach out to Quinn in her moment of need. I want to see more of that attitude and confidence she radiated as she struggled with her self-image due to what others told her was right. I want to see more of that strong young woman with the good heart and the no-nonsense attitude.
The misogynistic elements of Artie’s character needs to be dealt with. What is behind his constant need to belittle women? I refuse to buy the explanation that rap music made him do it. Explore. Describe. I need to see more of his relationship with his mother, one I think has been as broken and damaged as his spine since their accident. There is depth to be used in order to stop him from being nothing more than a patronizing bastard. So get to it and use it.
Oh, I almost forgot Rachel. Like I said, Finchel is old news. I don’t want to see her mopping around all season. I want to see her journey to fulfilling her dreams. And I want to see her open up even more. This previous season we slowly saw her soften and lose some of her selfishness by constantly being there for anyone in need. This next season is the season for the other characters to repay that. Stand up for, protect and support her. Give her true friends, because even though she keeps on saying that the only thing she wants is to be a star, she still needs to be loved. Not because of her voice or her talent, but because beneath that hard crust of shining gold stars there is a little girl looking to be loved. And she has a big heart that needs to be cradled lovingly even if her loud obnoxious mouth at times makes that difficult.
OCD isn’t something that very often appears on television, but lately with Emma they’ve done a brilliant job. She is a comedic element sure, but the way they handled her story in BTW made me yearn for more. Keep going with this story, show her steady progress. Deal with her lingering reluctance to admit to it being a disease.
Will/Sue/Beiste needs to start being teachers and role models. The audience do not care so much about their life drama and I seriously think that the show would benefit if they stopped trying to play that card. Let the teachers be teachers. Let them be there to help the students through their various storylines. I actually think they need to become selfless catalysts for the kids. Because frankly this season all scenes involving them and none of the gleeks automatically made me press fast-forward.
Puck, Lauren and Tike - I don’t care so much. It doesn’t mean that I don’t care at all, it just means I have no real emotional connection to any of their stories. There is nothing there to make me think about it enough to have an actual preference about what they do. So as long as those characters aren’t used as monkey wrenches in attempts to sabotage other characters I’ll just shrug my shoulders and accept whatever I get.
The new guys - as long as they are not the ones given storylines I am looking forward to them. For this season I’d enjoy to see them used as tools and catalysts that sway in the background and help further the current main characters different archs. Slowly get the audience used to them as they fill out the background and not bring them to the front until once this cast is gone.
One of the things I would like though is a new Queen Bee. I would like to see a new villain in the form of a proper bitch, preferably a cheerleader. A constant thorn in all of their sides. Someone who in the future could be dissected, but who start her career as the wicked witch. Thus both giving the team a new nemesis, but also allow Quinn the opportunity to develop beyond who she originally was.
Have I forgotten something? Someone? I probably have.
