I hate American Media.

Okay, so, a few of you have heard my rant over the whole Virginia Tech massacre and stuff. About how when they spoke of Cho, it was always "Korean immigrant this" "Korean immigrant that". Well... here's another case for you.

January 6th, 2007. A young couple go out on a date.

January 7th, 2007. Said couple never returned from their date.
Parents contacted the police and the young man's body was found later that afternoon, abandoned and burned near railroad tracks in East Knoxville. Police use the young woman's cell phone provider to track her cell phone, which leads to her abandoned car. Inside this car, an envelope with a fingerprint of someone, not the car's owner. The fingerprint led to it's owner's apartment where the body of the car's owner was found.

The story. Several men carjacked the young couple at gun point, bound, gagged and blind folded them. Took them back to their apartment where they beat and raped the guy, cut off of his penis... all while they made his girlfriend watch. When they were finished - they set his corpse on fire and dumped his body by said railroad tracks.

Now that he was dead, they commenced in gang raping the girlfriend. Beating her, pissing on her, raping her over a several day period. They sprayed and made her drink bleach "to kill" the DNA evidence of their sexual assaults upon her. While still alive, they cut off her breast. Then they shot her several times, and again, burned her body. After this, they wrapped her in a blanket and threw her in a trash can.

I heard about this for the first time this past weekend. No one I've talked to has heard about it. The couple? Two white students (Christopher Newsome, 23, and Channon Christian, 21) of the University of Tennessee. The people that did it? 4 black males and a black woman. And yet, I'm sure everyone's heard of the Duke Lacrosse players and the stripper - right? White guys allegedly (charges dropped...) rape a black woman. And yet, something that is a million and three times more heinous... doesn't make national headlines? Yeah. I hate society and media. I'm not saying rape is not a crime. But it wasn't rape. The bitch lied. But this couple got raped too - really raped, and tortured, and dismembered, and things that I couldn't even imagine. Just some food for thought... white on black crimes are more important than black on white crimes in national media? I'm not posting to offend - I'm posting for awareness.
