Moving update:
Last weekend, Sarah's parents came up, and along with a couple friends, we moved most of our stuff from Troy to Schenectady, while dodging torrential downpours. We got a lot done, but not everything.
This weekend, we moved almost everything else, including my servers and my desk. I knew that the desk itself fit inside my Civic, since that's how I got it from Rockaway to Troy, but I was very surprised to find that everything on, in, under, and behind my desk actually all fit in, with room to spare. The only stuff left is the rest of the kitchen stuff, and some random other things.
Of course, starting on Friday and continuing through today, we've been hit by a crazy heat wave, so dragging around big heavy boxes and whatnot was exceptionally fun.
So... Tonight and tomorrow we have to finish getting everything out of Troy and cleaning and whatnot. After tomorrow, we're done. We never have to deal with that apartment again, which is definitely a good thing.
As far as the house goes, we're partially set up now. The home theater system is all set up and all the wires are in the wall and under the floor. It looks and sounds great, and the projector gives us a nice 72" picture. The server rack is all set up and is set up in a much more sane way than it was in Troy, and my desk is assembled, and my computer is sitting on it, but nothing's really hooked up yet.
Unfortunately, Verizon won't be activating our DSL service until the 5th, so I'm still going to be another week without Internet access at home. Oh well.
I guess that's it for now. Pictures coming soon, once things are settled and there aren't boxes EVERYWHERE.
