I got left my apartment at about 7:15 this morning to clean the snow off my car... 7:25-ish I was on the road. Usually, that would get me to work around 7:50... Today... 9:05. It took me an hour and 40 minutes to get to work. 45 minutes of that was on the 5 mile HIGHWAY section of Rt. 7. Holy crap...
In other news... I got a new computer yesterday! Woo!!! It's a shiny new iMac with an Intel Core Duo processor. (Yes, I know... a Mac with an Intel processor. Multiple reports confirm that hell has, in fact, frozen over.) So... It's the 17" model, pretty much the stock config, but upgraded to a gig of RAM. I was going to go for two gigs, but I decided I didn't really need it, and not getting it saved me an additional $200.
The machine has a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB of DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) RAM, a 160 GB hard drive, a dual layer DVD burner, 128 MB ATi Radeon X1600 graphics, wireless, and bluetooth. It also has a built-in iSight digital camera, and came with the Apple Remote, for FrontRow. I also got a mini-DVI to DVI adapter, so I could plug in my 20" Dell LCD to it and have dual displays.
Here's a picture of my updated desk. The Dell laptop on the left is my work machine (owned by GE). The machine all the way on the right is my trusty old PowerBook G4.
