I've been in contact with HI quite a bit this month, as they've yet to receive my transcript. So I called Brock again and this time I managed to speak with someone (!) who knew what was going on (!!) and this was, verbatim, what she said to me: "I see that it was mailed out on the 31st of January. After that, it's pretty much up to you to make sure it gets there." How, exactly, I'm supposed to make sure it gets there is never specified, but I apparently have mystic powers.
So I ask if there are alternatives. They can fax a copy in - which is not the best idea, as HI says they need the originals, but it's better than nothing - or they can courier it.
Wait, what? Why was this option given to me when I paid for the fucking thing in January? Oh, because "we don't generally let people know about it; it's rather expensive." YES, YES IT IS. AND PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT GETS THEIR TRANSCRIPTS WHERE THEY NEED TO BE AND IN A SAFE FUCKING MANNER.
So how much does this cost? $40. And they'll throw in my transcript for free because they lost it the first time. Mighty fucking generous, that.
So I've emailed HI, let them know that Brock's fucked up the transcript sending somehow and that they can fax it if that'll be an acceptable alternative. Now I wait to hear back.
And if that IS acceptable, I get to go to Brock tomorrow and pay to fix their fucking mistake. I am fucking unimpressed.
