I heard a fitting weather report the other day: "It's going to be about 94 degrees in the LA area...Hot, dry, and on fire." Seriously. I fled the smoke to come home for the weekend, just a really short stint, I spent most of the time doing homework/midterms/gre review, but it was still really nice to be somewhere that doesn't resemble Hades. I'm convinced the devil lives in SoCal and he just likes it nice and hot. I went to my Nonna's house last weekend, my dad was in town and doing some surfing so he stayed at Nonna's while she's in italy, so I tagged along. On the drive home I took the beach route and I couldn't even see the houses to the right, the smoke was so thick. Then I got to my home sweet inferno to discover that the sun had been blocked out. You can see the flames from the higher points on campus. When fleeing closer to the beach, I still got ash stuck to me. Gross. Between being way south and way north, I'm doing a pretty good job of avoiding my life at school. I'm very ready to vacate socal. rabble rabble rabble!
Between school, and work and going crazy i still have time for some fun:
Because Cat is oh-so-connected we got to go to a block party at South Coast...yes...a party at the mall. How OC can it get? Anyway I wasn't complaining when they threw in the free booze and photobooth. The people dancing in counters or dressed as mascot-ish rabbits were a little freaky, though.
I can't figure out why Facebook won't let me upload them!! they're a profile pic waiting to happen.
Anyway, I love you all and hope everything is going well!
