Today is the BBW spring shopping party and I will be there, using my gift certificate to buy this:

(Thanks, Chris!) I didn't like much from her winter line so I waited for spring and wasn't disappointed. I am really hoping they have the dress in my size although I could probably see wearing the pullover more often? Either way I will be happy.
Last night was dinner at House of Veg (fulfilling my yearly quota since I have now been there twice this year) and food shopping. I was pretty good about sticking to my list but I added on two
Terra Nostra ricemilk choco w/almond bars for spite. (These are now the only bars I'll eat - the cocoa is supposed to be fair trade, as with Equal Exchange.) I'd purchased two at the deli on 7th earlier in the week without realizing they were $4 a piece and seeing them at the co-op for less than $2.50 made me try to justify stockpiling them. Of course I will probably eat them all by Saturday.

Bringing a Ziploc for my one planned bulk item worked well (nutritonal yeast) but when I got home I realized that I wouldn't be able to clean out that bag so I guess I will just keep designated bags for things I usually buy bulk like n.yeast, nuts, flour, etc. (This is an idea that was pitched at our finance meeting - my original plan was to bring the reused glass jars I store stuff in.) It's helpful in a way because I wrote the name and PLU number on the bag so it's all set up for next time and I won't need to use those yellow stickers or find a pen in the bulk aisle anymore - and most importantly won't need to use those crappy produce bags at all. The
org cotton produce bags are working out pretty well for produce so I'm really happy with those. Now I just wish the co-op could figure out how to sell berries and cherry tomatoes in bulk so I don't keep ending up with those plastic containers!
