Sans Ice Pick

I swear to god I feel like I live in a time vortex.  My weekend was okay.

Friday night I went to Lowes with S to get:
- an over-the-door shoe rack because this is what I've been reduced to
- galvanized aluminum bins for the feral cats' food
- fan pull chain extender
- a roll of screen to patch up what the raccoons did or install new screen in that ( Read more... )

df down the tubes?! really? i didnt realize you broke up with them!

about your workshop, word is some peeps around here could stand to go to that. you know, awesome fosters that have 25 kittens from 3 different fosters all together in one room interacting with their own house cats. people can be just as retarded AND veterinary students. its awful!

Oh my god. That's really bad. I thought you meant three sets of fosters, anyway!

I delighted when I saw this sentence in our handout since so many groups self-vacc:

"Vaccination is a medical procedure. Oversight of vaccine protocols and specific patient questions should be directed to a veterinarian."

yeah. its really bad. i dont know how they are going to be veterinarians when they feel like they can save any and all animals of the world without realizing how much harm they are putting the kittens AND their own cats in.

Yeah, that's frightening. You have the folks like the 5th Ave vets we dealt with telling me FIP can be everywhere and giving no solid advice as to how to limit spread since Noel was already in our apt (given that his only symptom was...diarrhea, too). And then you have folks who seemingly don't care.

Do you know if anything new is coming out re FeLV+ transmission? Everyone says research says it's droplet/indirect exposure but then there are so many anecdotal cohabitation incidences that make it seem like that's totally incorrect!

im not sure about the felv thing, but i'll look into it. as far as FIP goes, its just the luck of the draw..or not luck. for some reason some corona viruses just choose to go on the evil path...but noel was way too old to get it for the most part anyways. usually its seen in kittens so that was strange that they went that route. i mean, for him IBD or something along those lines would have been more likely. he didnt have ascites or any other FIP signs besides diarrhea!
