Cats. Curses. Slept in sunlight and chased my tail. And can say with full authority that the whiskers do not glow in the dark--so I was right. Why would they? Honestly. Feline ( Read more... )

Aaaah~! But if there's no writers then I'll run out of things to read!

Frightening thought. Heaven help us. Or at least Saint Jerome.

I guess I could just read these network entries, b-but it's just not the same if it's not on paper!

You've hit it. You to read and I to write, but nothing between us but electricity and changeable letters. So what now?

Oh, are you a writer, Sir?

Not 'sir'. But I am. And you're a reader.

The term used for her is "bibliophile", and it's almost in a literal sense. >_> reading_readman October 29 2008, 21:24:29 UTC
Mm! That's right! Books are wonderful~. The texture of the paper, the feel, the smell, it's all so~... Perfect~!

*snicker* As an IRL librarian, I have heard of these people... thejejunejesuit October 29 2008, 21:26:41 UTC
O. Not only the words. The paper. The book--or the idea of a book. The ideal of book, perhaps, if we want to dabble into Plato again.

It's the greatest thing in the world to find an original print of a great book, even journals or music sheets~. You can feel the spirit of the writer in the words on the page, their thoughts as they wrote; it's a kind of connection you can't find anywhere else~!

[OOC: To be fair, it's probably part of how her paper-control powers work; she "reads with all five senses", as Joker explains it. If I were prone to copying the manga she'd be speeching about how you can put your trust in paper. It sounds really goofy summarizing it as such but she sounds so convincing. XD It was so silly I couldn't commit it to memory, though. Ah, but this is OVA Yomiko anyway. Random trivia~]

Yes yes yes! But don't discount (yes, yes, I know) the other copies, the ones bought and sold--let the word get out, of course. Let the readers talk amongst themselves:

--O, have you read his M?
--Yes, but I prefer Q.

And then? The ones with best understanding, greatest devotion, the followers if you like, will follow after. They will seek out the original, where Artist's hand touched Artist's paper, and there were the Words.

[ooc: I know I put my trust in paper ;3; You are talking to someone who loves random trivia, btw~]

Exactly~! Searching through different cities, libraries, stores, the hunt is half the fun~!

[OOC: XD Ha! Well, eventually when I'm not being lazy I'll detail out Yomiko's profile in case anyone's interested, but~... Lazy~~...]

I'd rather be the one who's made the book hunted after.

Mm, I know someone like that. She's a writer, too~. One of my favorites~!

O, did you? What did she write?

reading_readman October 29 2008, 22:04:38 UTC
Oh, a few titles, up to now. She was a child prodigy, a real up-and-comer! She writes youth novels, mostly. So far her works include "You Know Me", "Love Songs From Beyond The Ceiling", and "Crimson Study." She was working on a couple new ones last time I saw her!
