it's a little early, but the good thing is that i only have to work one saturday each month (unless i ask for more hours). i was saddened this morning because my relatives came over and i got the impresssion from the estrogen part of the house that they were all getting their pedicures today (my sis & i totally missed our appointment yesterday) & i was not going to be there! i really don't mind working because this is probably one of the easiest jobs, but i dont want to miss out on the continuation of a good thanksgiving weekend. i really enjoyed this year. maybe because i know that there is a big possibility im not going to be with them as much in the future. the feeling's a little strange. & even though, my family woke up around 4:30 in the morning, like those crazies, who camp out of walmart, i didn't really miind. we've all been out and about that i cant really wait for sabbath day coz i'd like to get some rest & maybe do homework (MAYBE).
& since im bad with transitions ill categorize.
thanksgiving--
for the first time EVER i tapped into cooking & the food was actually edible. my mom, my sis, my aunt, & my dad had to work for a few hours so i was left with baking-the-turkey responsibility. it was initially disconcerting because i have never baked before and my mom had to teach me to turn on the oven, but it turned out shockingly well. i was giving martha stewart a run for her millions. my turkey was moist & amazing. my gravy turned out to be perfect. my stuffing was tasty. i am good (probably only this one time). im just glad that i didnt disappoint.
monetary issues--
i've been trying to save lately and i'm probably a proof that this is a futile attempt. it's so difficult to be a teenager & save. im not sure if it gets easier as you get older or it gets more diffcult as you pass adolescence but dags. & yes, this deserves a dagnabbit. on a happier (as in im almost broke but happy with my new clothes) note, i bought two pairs of much needed pants (not denim, a shirt, and little trinkets to go with christmas presents. mj & i got this awesome & economical idea for xmas presents for friends this year. obviously, i cant disclose what it is, but it's great!
black friday--
=hell. like i said--i didnt mind waking up early yesterday morning but i did mind the fight in walmart. even though, i havent been there in a long time i totally DO NOT miss it. the mess, the people--ughhhhh! the funny thing is that my mom was in the midst of the fight that broke out, which was featured in local news. people were throwing electronics at each other because i think that they were fighting for a free digicam. it was horrifying. five cops were runniing to the electronics department & @ one point one of them screamed "everybody, shut up!" & someone stepped on my foot & didnt apologize--let me just say that I LOVE PEOPLE.
despite the chaos, i enjoyed my 5-day break, even though, i know that i have hell to pay with some of my classes for missing an additional day. hope everyone had a greaty weekend. so, after work=leftovers!
