We're Engaged!
There was no hesitation. Not a doubt in my mind. I knew that there was something very different with this one. My love.
On our 3 year anniversary of meeting, my love and I took a trip down memory lane. We visited the place where we met and
strolled through the park where we sat on our second date. The sun was setting and we had just arrived at Luna Park.
This is where it happened.
We explored and wandered around. Going on rides and eating amusement park food. The whole time, my head heavy with
anticipation. I knew it was coming and she didn't. We wouldn't be girlfriends for much longer.
Finally, it came time to challenge the Ferris Wheel. And you might not think it would be a challenge but for someone as
scared of heights as I am - I can assure you it was. I knew. She didn't. It was going to happen on one of those carriages
and we would walk off engaged. So I took a photo of her looking at the ferries wheel. I wanted to preserve her right then
and there. Before she knew. Happy and unaware.
We got on the Ferris Wheel. Carriage 6. My heart beating hard. Ascending to the top, we could see Sydney harbour lit up.
Just over the Harbour Bridge we saw the end of a firework display. It was beautiful. I was petrified. Carriage 6 stopped,
we were right at the top. I turned to her and told her I loved her. Then I asked her. "Will you marry me?"
She gasped and covered her mouth when she realised I was proposing for real, then said yes.
And with a shaky push I slid the ring on her finger.
We stepped off Carriage 6 engaged to each other and I felt dizzy and excited. She said yes. To me!
I welcome this chapter of my life and I'm so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with my love.
