Disney and my homey pursuits
I feel fairly certain that Disney movies are the cause of my warped view of housecleaning. I was watching Peter Pan this afternoon and it was at the scene in the nursery when Nana makes the beds and cleans up the wooden blocks and I went "See, that's how a bed gets made: two well-timed shakes and all the rumples are gone." The same thing goes for cleaning the kitchen (Sleeping Beauty), washing the floor and ousting cobwebs (Snow White), and doing dishes (Sword and the Stone). My ideal domestic bliss includes the heavy use of a wand, if you know what I'm saying...
